The Justice 40 Initiative was established under the Biden Administration’s Executive Order 14008: Tackling the Climate Crisis at Home and Abroad. It provided federal investments in clean energy and energy efficiency; clean transit; affordable and sustainable housing; training and workforce development; the remediation and reduction of legacy pollution; and the development of clean water infrastructure. The Justice 40 Initiative calls for 40% of the overall benefits of these federal investments to flow to disadvantaged communities. The Delaware Justice 40 Task Force Committee was established to study and make findings and 17 recommendations regarding environmental justice in Delaware. I chaired the task force, and we were able to complete the final report this session and provide recommendations to the state.
