The Delaware Legislative Black Caucus Unveils New Website

January 6, 2026

DOVER – On Tuesday, Delaware Legislative Black Caucus (DLBC) leaders, Representatives Nnamdi Chukwuocha and Franklin Cooke, announced the launch of the DLBC’s new website to expand access to information and strengthen engagement with communities across Delaware.

Since its founding in 2019, the DLBC, which includes both State Representatives and State Senators, has worked to ensure that Delaware’s legislative process is inclusive of people of all different backgrounds while directly addressing the racial inequities that continue to exist in society.

The new website supports this mission by providing Delawareans with an easy way to find information about the DLBC’s priorities, legislative work, and ongoing projects.

“The work of the DLBC has created great and necessary change in Delaware, and since stepping into leadership last year, our focus has been on ensuring that that work can continue in a way that directly meets community needs. That has meant building tools that increase transparency and communication, and make our priorities clear to the communities we serve,” said Rep. Nnamdi Chukwuocha, Chair of the DLBC. “This website represents a major step in that effort, and I am grateful to all who helped bring it to life so our residents can stay informed, engaged, and empowered in their state government.”

“For us, this website fills a real gap,” said Rep. Franklin Cooke, Vice Chair of the DLBC. “At a time when so many feel divided or disconnected from government as a whole, it is important that we continue to create spaces that bring people together and give them the tools they need to make informed decisions. This new site is designed to help people better understand our mission and how we serve our communities, and I believe it represents an important step toward strengthening our connection with all neighbors across the First State and beyond.”

“The Delaware Black Legislative Caucus exists because representation matters. Since its founding in 2019, we have created a consistent and collective voice for Black Delawareans in state government,” said Senator Darius Brown. “The launch of the DLBC website is an important extension of that work. It gives our communities direct access to the issues we are fighting for and the progress we are making. This will strengthen the connection between this caucus and the people we serve, and I look forward to continuing on our progress with my colleagues.”
